Lent is a season of conversion and as such for me it means starting with an examination of where I could do better at following Jesus. This begins with an examination of conscience and confession. Confession is the Sacrament of conversion. This means that I must turn from my sins and become more christlike.

Self-denial is incomplete without me following Christ. The call from Christ to "Follow Me" needs to animate all my activities. All must be done with an eye toward charity.
In order to effect this conversion I must set aside time each day for worship, prayer, and bible reading. I must nourish the virtues of faith, hope, and love by study and prayer. I must remain faithful to the promises made at my baptism and confirmation. I must begin to develop faithfulness to the promises I will make if I choose a vocation.
